Turtle Day

Well it was another beautiful day on Maui and it seemed like there were turtles everywhere.

This guy was so close we had to keep the kids back from touching him.
So I was up again at 6am so I started painting turtles.
Here's one I did yesterday.
I usually like to sit here and paint.  I get a good view of the turtles, any whales that might pass by and the occasional gecko......

  2. I'm so jealous. Here I am with a full-blown cold looking out at a boring apartment complex and freezing (42 degrees outside) and you're at the freakin' beach drawing sea turtles. Can we please trade places, and you can go to my art classes tomorrow that I HAVE to attend because there's a critique in Jewelry and Metalsmithing (even though I haven't finished my piece) and it's the last day in class to work on my painting?

Anyway, so beautiful. It sounds relaxing.

  3. 42 degrees agnes? It's about 10 or 20 degrees colder here... and snow expected again in a couple of days. But Maui looks beautiful - enjoy!!

  6. I was part of a Ridley turtle patrol on Padres Island. We'd go out and look for turtle tracks up to their nests to see if they were coming back to lay eggs. They were imprinted first in Galveston, Texas and then released. Do you have any idea which turtles you are seeing there? It might be a green turtle.

    Your watercolorings are beautiful!
